Going Back to Personal Blogging — BLOG

"Peace sells, but who's buying?" is a phrase I found late at night while browsing for t-shirt designs. It's interesting phrase that makes me think about my writing journey from 2007 to today. That phrase makes me think about our society, economy, and everything in between.

I promise myself not to use any AI-generative text tools to write my personal blog posts, so I hope you can forgive me for any grammatical errors, strange vocabularies, etc. I would appreciate if you can give me feedback so I can improve my English writing.

I'm not an expert in sociology, economy, or whatever, but it doesn't take a genius to notice how crazy the world today, how fast the night changes, how far off we are from the idea of "utopia." The internet has changed significantly since I first started writing for it in the 2010s. And yes, I'm that old—but that's beside the point.

Do you know why internet was first invented? It wasn’t designed as a monetization machine.  It wasn't for publishing automated content, generated by sophisticated text calculator algorithm, nor to spread propaganda to make things seems bigger than they actually are. It was for sharing ideas, information, open discussion, I don't know, anything but what we have today. And yet slowly, but surely, somebody and a group of people finds a way to make it into a money-making machine, idea-inducing drugs, like it always does for every media in history. Yet, again, I'm not a historian.

Often I find myself feeling stupid for believing in good causes. I have other websites, written in non-English language, for commercial purposes. Lately, I don't feel as happy as I was when I first started it.

Sooner or later, I know the fixation on numbers and revenue would get into my head. After all, we need money to manage everything, to replace the time and effort that goes into creating high-quality content. Now, I'd just go make a prompt, and let the AI generate the articles for me. I don't want to think too much about it anymore. I just want to get things done and attract as many readers as I could, so the ad-revenue could pay the bills. So far, the articles does really well on Google Search, despite the claim that AI-generated articles would be suspended or whatever.

This is my first time going back to personal blogging after years of hiatus. Well, not hiatus "hiatus" from writing entirely. Only to hiatus from actually writing what I want to write about.

I'm not going to pick any niche, starting with smaller topics and all those other blogging tip bullshits... I'm returning to personal blogging, free from the pressure of algorithms and metrics. Whether this article is found by others or not, I'm writing for myself—and that's what truly matters. I'm going to do what I want to do, despite all odds. I'm tired, and this is where I will try to defy gravity—Wicked style! It may work, but most likely it's not going to work.
